Laura Duncan files for Shelby County Clerk

Laura Duncan, a resident of Fairland, has filed as a Democratic Party candidate for Shelby County Clerk. Laura and her husband, Brian, have two children, Hayden and Hannah, who attend Northwestern Consolidated School Corporation. Laura holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education Social Studies. It is this interest in government and civics that has led Laura to file for Clerk. Laura’s experience includes working in the insurance industry, serving as President of Triton Central Elementary Parent Teacher Organization and taking numerous political science courses at IUPUI. Laura has previously worked at Indiana Downs and as a substitute teacher at Triton Central Schools and Franklin Township Community Schools. Laura has strong ties to the community and welcomes the prospect of meeting more Shelby County residents. She looks forward to the election process and the opportunity of serving the people of Shelby County.  If elected Laura pledges to operate the Clerk’s office in an efficient and friendly manner.

Noell Krughoff, Chairwoman of the Shelby County Democratic Party, is thrilled to place Laura Duncan’s name on the ballot for County Clerk. Krughoff was authorized by the Democratic County Committee at a June 16th meeting to fill ballot vacancies. “When I spoke with Laura and learned about her knowledge of civics and her teaching background, I knew she would be an excellent Clerk. Since the Clerk’s office is responsible for training election workers, Laura’s skills will be a great asset,” Krughoff said.
