Shelby County Democratic Party Mission Statement:
To raise awareness of Democratic values and elect public officials who promote the common good.
Party Leadership:
Jim brings substantial public service and private business experience to his role as Party Chairman. He was an elected member of the Shelbyville Common Council for four years, served five years on the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Board and 10 years on the Shelbyville Plan Commission.
In the private sector, Jim founded and ran several businesses in Shelbyville and has been active in many community organizations. In 2004, he received the Business Person of the Year Award from the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce.
He was unanimously elected Party Chairman on June 2, 2011.

Jody Olinger, Lee Sakellarides, Noell Krughoff
Noell and her husband Tom live in Union Township in northeastern Shelby County. Tom and Noell have four adult children and two grandsons. Noell is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; Noell and Tom are members of Little Blue River Friends Meeting. Besides church activities Noell and Tom are active with Shelby County Players.
Noell has a BA in Communication Arts from the University of Dayton and a Masters in Education from Indiana University. She served as the Shelby County Solid Waste Management District Director from 1998 to 2005. She also worked for the Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation District as a conservation educator. Most recently she mangages an Environmental Protection Agency grant for the Little Blue River Watershed.
Noell previously served as the Chairwoman of the Shelby County Democratic Party. She is also the Union Township Precinct Committee chairwoman.
Jody has been involved with Shelby County Democrats for many years. She also serves on the County Election Board. She was re-elected Central Committee Treasurer in March 2009 and is the Moral South Precinct Committee Chair.
Lee Sakellarides is proud to call Shelby County home once again after relocating recently from New York City. A graduate of Triton Central High School, Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University and a master’s degree in English from Brooklyn College/The City University of New York. In Indiana, she taught English at Triton, composition at IUPUI and Ivy Tech, and Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics as a corporate trainer for several businesses, such as Ford and Delco Remy. In New York, she taught English in the city’s public school system. She then held positions teaching composition, business writing, technical writing, and public speaking at New York University and New Jersey Institute of Technology. For seven years she was president and owner of Precisely Write of New York, a technical writing service whose clients included several Fortune 500 companies. A certified customer service trainer with Achieve Global®, she also served as a documentation specialist for R.R. Donnelley Financial, where she developed and delivered training programs in customer service, typesetting, and proofreading. Lee was awarded Senior Member status in the Society for Technical Communication and is a graduate of Democracy for America’s Netroots Nation Campaign Academy. Lee is also an avid playwright and former professional dancer and choreographer, and two of her plays have been produced on the stage in New York. She currently works as a freelance writer and editor and lives with her son, a third-generation Triton student.
